I wonder what those dresses are made out of? It looks really synthetic. These are great ads, very 80s indeed (I was in my 20s then so I remember the fashions very well, though did not wear anything like this)
I think it is some sort of Lycra/Spandex based fabric- the sort of thing that is the definition of "man made material"!
